About Teddy Benson
Edward H. Benson III, known as Teddy, was born in Abilene, Texas, and grew up in a military family, which instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and adaptability. His family's move to St. Petersburg, Florida, marked a significant turn in his life, where he spent his last two years of high school. During this time, he was dual-enrolled at Eckerd College, diving deep into computer science and studying architecture using Pascal.

With over 30 years of experience, Teddy Benson's career is a mosaic of innovation and leadership. He is renowned for his adaptability and forward-thinking approach, mastering methodologies like Best Practices, Waterfall, Agile, and SCRUM.

In 1999, Teddy founded Channel Intelligence in Celebration, FL, where he served as the Director of Client Engineering. Leading global development teams, he created infrastructure and development plans that caught Google's attention, culminating in its acquisition in 2013. At Google, Teddy transitioned to the Director of Channel Intelligence Group Client Engineering, integrating Channel Intelligence's infrastructure into Google's ecosystem and developing custom internal tools and external client services.
From 2015 to 2021, Teddy served as the DDSI Director at Walt Disney World, overseeing the Data Integration and Application Platform Solution teams. He designed hybrid cloud platform architecture essential for Disney's operations, managing complex technical environments and large-scale capital projects.
Most recently, Teddy has taken on the role of Director of Data Architecture and Platforms for Universal Destinations & Experiences. He leads the design and implementation of cutting-edge data solutions, ensuring robust and efficient data management practices that support Universal's experiences.
Teddy's career is marked not just by his professional achievements but also by his commitment to community and continuous learning. He has mentored young minds as a Boy Scout Leader and Cub Scout Leader, fostering a spirit of curiosity and innovation. His extensive certifications and professional development courses highlight his dedication to staying at the forefront of technology.
